Brexit and the Transition Period

The UK is currently in a transitional period with the EU which will last until 31st December 2020.

We have the option of extending this transitional period for up to 2 years, providing an extension is requested by July 2020, but the UK Government is giving no indication they will do this, in fact quite the opposite, they are saying they won’t. So this is not about if there will be the need for customs paperwork but when.

So no changes in 2020 but lots to come from as early as 1st January 2021.

In preparation Eurosprint have invested in extra staff (Mark, Andrew, Pam), new software, new agents (we have joined the 5 Star Network) and the icing on the cake we are now AEO accredited (Think of this as a Michelin Star for customs agents). We are also a founder member of the much publicised “Customs Clearance Consortium” a new business venture set up purely to deal with increased demand on the UK border.

And we are not stopping there, we want to make sure all of our clients – Existing and Potential – are ready too! Over the coming months we will be reaching out to suggest a meeting with you to conduct a full review of your current Import/Export operation and paperwork. We have done lots of these so it won’t take too much time as long as the information we need to see is available when we arrive.

If you can’t wait for the call then please take a look at below or email clay@eurosprint.co.uk and we will arrange something sooner.
